What is an NFT in Herd? Is it mandatory to play?
An NFT (non-fungible token) is a unique digital object, secured by the blockchain, that you actually own. In Herd, an NFT can be a skin, a character or a special power of the game.
No NFT is required to play: the game is accessible free of charge, but NFTs enable you to customize, collect or enhance your experience if you wish.
How do I buy a skin on the marketplace?
Character skins are included in the packs available on the marketplace. To purchase a pack, simply click on the "Buy" button. An NMKR pay tab will then appear, where you can enter your payment details. We use NMKR and NMKR pay for 100% secure management of NFT purchases. If you have any problems, please do not hesitate to contact NMKR customer service.
Can I sell or exchange my NFTs?
NFTs sold on the Herd marketplace are delivered directly to your wallet. You are then free to use them as you wish. Herd's NFTs are designed to include royalties that will be applied when they are resold on the secondary market. These royalties are paid to Herd's DAO, who then distributes them between the DAO's treasury, the development team and the artists who have contributed to producing the NFTs and game assets.
Do the NFTs I buy give me an in-game advantage?
NFTs can unlock skins, characters and abilities. In Herd Skins are only available through NFTs. All the other assets of the game are accessible for free, by playing the game.
Do I need a crypto-currency to buy an NFT in Herd?
Yes, to buy an NFT in Herd, you need a wallet compatible with Cardano assets and the right amount in ADA.
What blockchain does the marketplace operate on?
Herd's marketplace is built on the Cardano blockchain, renowned for its security, low energy consumption, and community-based philosophy. It enables fast, transparent and accessible transactions.
Is it secure? What happens if I lose access to my wallet?
Yes, the system is secure thanks to the blockchain.
However, as with any Web3 wallet, you are responsible for your access. If you lose your recovery phrase or password, it may be impossible to recover your NFTs. We strongly recommend that you store your access data in a safe place.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A "RARE", "EPIC" OR "LEGENDARY" ITEM ?
These levels indicate the degree of rarity of an NFT :
Rare : Most common level of rarity
Epic : More exclusive, advanced content
Legendary : Highest level of rarity. The rarer an item, the greater its potential.
Are artists paid when an NFT is sold?
Yes, at Herd, artists receive 30% of the sales of their creations in the form of royalties. It's our way of supporting artistic creation, respecting intellectual property and making every NFT ethical and fair.
Can I buy an NFT without using a crypto platform (payment by card)?
No. But you can have access to Chests through your favorite platform.
How do you know if an NFT is truly unique or authentic?
Each NFT is registered on the blockchain, guaranteeing its uniqueness and authenticity. You can consult the number of copies, the sales history and the creator's address at any time. No risk of counterfeiting: everything is publicly verifiable.
DO I HAVE TO BUY NFTS TO PLAY?
No! All Herd content, with the exception of skins, can be obtained free of charge through play. NFTs are available for players who wish to personalize their game experience and own rare and exclusive skins. They are in no way necessary to play or progress, and offer no advantage in terms of gameplay.
