Every piece of gameplay content can be unlocked simply by playing :
characters, abilities and their upgrades are all available through in-game progression. For players who want to accelerate their collection, optional loot chests can be purchased; each chest grants a chance to drop a full character or ability, or the essences required to craft them.
The only items that can't be earned through play are purely cosmetics skins - issued in limited runs on our marketplace - so personal style is up for sale, but competitive power never is.

Questions about Herd?
When will the game be available?
Herd is currently under development. You can have access to our early public releases, that allows you to test very early versions of the game. Herd will go into Early Access by the end of September 2025, and the development will continue after. There is no official release date yet for the full game.
On which platforms is Herd available?
Herd is available on PC, Android, iOS, and Mac. You can get it via the Epic Games Store, Google Store, Apple Store or direct download.
Does Herd offer a single-player or multiplayer mode?
Herd has a strong community focus, but will offer both single-player and multiplayer content.
Where can I discuss the game with other players?
You can join our active community on Discord, where you can chat with other players, share your ideas and ask the development team any questions you may have. You can also join the Herd community on our social networks.
Is it possible to follow the development of the game?

How does the NFT part of Herd work?
NFTs in Herd are unique objects or characters that you can collect, use in-game, or trade freely. Thanks to blockchain technology, each NFT really belongs to you, and is a digital asset that enriches your gaming experience. Their rarity creates value. They allow you to trade or resell your NFTs on dedicated marketplaces. But you don't have to buy NFTs to play and defeat your opponents.
What kind of game is it?
HERD is the first Musical Battle RPG. Herd is not a rhythm game, it's a musical game in which the player plays both with the music and with the characteristics of his characters. The progression mode offered in the game is a fairly classic RPG progression, and finally, in Herd, you'll have to fight in 1v1 against other players or an AI. You'll have to use skills, which include musical samples, combine them and play them together, both strategically and to achieve a satisfying mix.
It's a music game, but what kind of music?
Herd is a game in which you use skills that contain musical samples. Each skill is linked to a musical style (jazz, rap, rnb, pop, etc.). You can build your skill kits any way you like. Prefer pop? No problem, you can put together a kit made entirely of skills in that musical style. Conversely, it's perfectly possible to mix skills from different styles. You really are free to do as you please, and why not, invent your own style.
How long does a Herd battle last?
A battle in Herd lasts between 3 and 6 minutes on average, depending on your character's level, your opponent's level and your playing skills.
Where do we stand in development?
Herd is being developed by a small team, and is currently in the Early Alpha stage, i.e. a version of the game offered to the public very early in the development process, in order to get as much feedback from players as possible as soon as possible. We're aiming for an Early Access in September 2025, during which the content will certainly be limited, but you'll already be able to play battles against other players.
How often do you update?
Herd is updated on a regular basis, and will continue to be after Early Access, with at least one update per month.
Is there a season system?
Herd will feature a season system in the future, which will affect part of the content. It's the single-player campaign that will mainly be based on a seasonal system, in order to regularly renew the single-player experience.
Is there a battle pass?
No, we don't currently offer battle passes. We want to keep monetization clear and based on a voluntary approach: only those players who wish to do so pay, either to customize their characters or to progress faster. A battle pass system is not what we want at the moment.
